Remarks:

  • In the event that ARMS LITE does not run when accessing the Desktop Icon, verify that no Software files have been quarantined by any anti-viral software.
  • Else, attempt the following to identify if the issue is caused by WMI (Windows Management Instrumentation).

WMI Error Identification

1. Access the file "config_setting.php" in the ARMS LITE > Include Folder. Open the file using Notepad and comment out the following function "ioncube_file_is_encoded" (Add "//" to the start and end of the paragraph). Once complete, save the changes.

2. Download the "rundebugs.bat" file and insert it into the ARMS LITE Folder. Once placed, run the file and view the produced output. Take note if there are any error messages containing the term "winmgmts". If yes, proceed with the WMI Repair / Reconnect after reverting the changes made in Step #1.

WMI Repair / Re-Connect

1. Launch the "Computer Management" on the PC and verify that the "WMI (Windows Management Instrumentation)" is running in the Services . If not, start the Service in the Services App.

2. Launch the Command Prompt and insert the command "wbemtest". In the panel that appears, click on "Connect".

3. The following panel should normally appear. However if the error code "0x8004100e" and "0x80041003" appears, close and exit the panel.

4. To address the issue, run the Command Prompt with Administrator privileges, and run the following command: "mofcomp.exe c:\windows\system32\wbem\win32_encryptablevolume.mof".

5. Reattempt to boot ARMS LITE to verify results of the repair.

Addendum:

Alternatively, the following commands may be utilized in an Elevated Command Prompt to recompile the MOF Files causing the WMI Error:

cd C:\Windows\System32\Wbem

for /f %s in ('dir /b *.mof *.mfl') do mofcomp %s

for %i in (*.dll) do regSvr32 -s %i

net stop winmgmt /y

net start winmgmt

gpupdate /force
